Cairngorm [moon outfit] (Land of the Lustrous)
Costume notes:
As soon as Cairngorm showed up in this outfit, I knew I had to make it. I was my third Cairngorm cosplay within a year! I may have a bit of a problem. At least doing the same character multiple times over means you don't have to buy a new wig, right?
Construction notes:
This one was a bit of a doozy because of the bunnysuit. It's hard to tell in the reference artwork what exactly is happening with some of the outfit, so I had to make parts of it up.
The main piece is a white satin boned bunnysuit with cutouts on the sides of the waist. This required a lot of pattern contouring in order to make it fit without the cutouts gapping. Over the bunnysuit, I wear a long-sleeved (raglan sleeves) chiffon tricot dress that is slit up to the hips and covered in half pearls. Over this is the skirt, which is a double circle skirt with a flat waist and shiny silver horsehair braid as the waistband and at the hem. This is also covered in half pearls.
I love the flow of the skirt, but I almost wish I had gone through the pain of using poly organza so I could get a puffy skirt and so my shawl wouldn't be as limp. Maybe I'll make a small petticoat for it and hope I can make it as transparent as possible!
