Windia (Deathsmiles) Cosplay
I finally did a Deathsmiles cosplay!
I've liked this game for....quite some time now, and the aesthetics are peak. A really good shmup with old school gothic lolita aesthetics? Count me in!
I chose to cosplay Windia because she's not only the most iconic, but the most lolita of the group. I changed a few details and added a few to make it a bit more passably lolita fashion rather than pure ita and really like the effect.
Main garments are made of cotton French twill from Dharma Trading Co. All lace sourced from Aliexpress. The wig was styled by my partner and is a Classe Sara SPK-09. Wings are purchased.
Instead of the weird laced up nonsense on the skirt, I chose to insert some tubes of satin into beading eyelet lace for a more realistic look. I also changed up the headbow to be shaped like an actual headbow. The skirt is a rectangle skirt with half shirring and a side zip. The blouse and bolero were self drafted. Shoulder feathers are feather trim that I trimmed into tapered points and glued marabou to the bases of, and these snap onto the bolero so they can be removed for washing.
The sword was fun: it's a cardboard and paper mache base covered in Worbla and foam clay and then painted and weathered. The blade is several layers of clear PET-G that I cut into shape, painted with a thin coat of pearlescent paint, and glued into the sword base.
